Karen Bray

Hello – I’m Karen. I’ve just joined the team here at White Gold and really looking forward to engaging with our young people and being a part of their progressive and positive futures. Finding out what interests, likes and dislikes, is all part of the rapport building and navigation stage, from which trusting relationships are built and hopefully leads to fulfilling and sustainable outcomes.

I have worked in a variety of roles over the years and gained valuable experiences in a wide range of different jobs – including roles within primary and secondary education, and in our local colleges – each of them having that one thing in common – and that is that people are at the heart of my work.

As a qualified Coach & Mentor, and Mental Health Practitioner, I have been privileged to work with people of all ages and at varying stages of their life, and there is nothing better than seeing someone really start to thrive and become more confident and independent. Most recently, I have been tutoring in Functional Skills, and mentoring young people across the county.

Living in mid Cornwall, I enjoy spending time outdoors and catching up with friends over a coffee and am fond of travel and experiencing new cultures. With a real love of the theatre, I can regularly be found at The Hall for Cornwall and have been an Audio Describer there for over 20 years – and am just about to start learning BSL.
