I started out my career working in Human Rights and spent time in South America studying at university in Chile, and later working in Peru with children and young people. I have always been interested in people; how we learn and develop and how we can support each other.
I have studied Psychology specialising in Development Psychology, and have worked with people who have experienced trauma and loss for most of the last 15 years. I know the importance of early intervention with young people, giving them time to explore their ideas and interests, and find their identity through positive interactions and activities.
Over the last 15 years I have supported children and young people in various roles (practitioner, team lead and service manager) across the charity and voluntary sectors, and worked in the statutory sector for 4 years with Together for Families supporting young people, their families and communities. I really enjoy working with children and young people and love the energy and learning they bring. No two days are ever the same.
I have three children aged, and we love living in Cornwall; we are often found on the beach or in the sea!
I am a keen runner and gym goer and love spending time outdoors.
