Charlotte Smart

Hi I’m Charlotte and I have a beautiful 3 year old daughter and 2 dogs and 2 cats. I was born and raised in Cornwall! I studied for my degree in Bristol in Psychology in Education which ignited my passion for working with young people and particularly those struggling with mental health. My hobbies have been very varied, ranging from learning to sky dive, bouldering/climbing, anything involving animals to simple walks on the cliffs or watching movies.
I have my own personal adverse experiences and so have a real understanding of the reality of trauma and getting through the after effects, both emotionally and practically. My work experience has been very varied, working in many customer facing roles in my younger years but also working in more different roles, like in a fish merchants and then for music festivals like Glastonbury.
More recent roles are where my true passion lies, working as a mental health crisis support worker where I supported people with a wide range of mental health conditions, who often had complex life circumstances, adverse childhood experiences, health conditions, learning disabilities and the neurodiverse community. It was a great role where I could work regularly with clients, build relationships and help them to feel heard but also support practically to overcome their challenges.
As a person I believe I am kind, empathetic and open-minded with a calm, non-judgmental nature. I am very excited to join the team and work with White Gold to support young people and their families through whatever challenges they are facing.
