After 30 years of teaching in Secondary schools, initially as a PE teacher, I had the benefit of engaging students through physical activity and outdoor education. I found this environment more conducive to developing student’s confidence, resilience and general wellbeing, which in turn contributed to better attendance, academic results and readiness for Post 16 challenges.
More recently working as a pastoral lead within schools, I have seen vulnerable young people blossom through support and careful intervention. I’m looking forward to using this experience with White Gold Cornwall.
When not working, my hours are filled with being physically active, outside – from running with my dogs, having adventures with my grandchildren, to growing fruit and veg.
