Worval Foundation Grant

We have recently heard that we have been successful in our bid for support from the Worval Foundation, run through Cornwall Community Foundation.  This is for £5,000 per year for 3 years and would provide and sustain a cohort of young people who are facing extreme mental health issues due to the current lockdown restrictions.  These young people have been supported by our team who have brought them through some of the difficulties facing them (isolation, uncertainty, loneliness, anxiety).

However receiving a lump sum from the Fund has ensured the consistency and continuity of the support in order that all issues can be individually looked at and worked upon.  Previous funding is coming to an end and this fund will extend the work needed to complete the support.  A key aspect of our work is the individual relationship between the young person and the worker and this trust is built up over a period of time.  For the young person to suddenly lose that support could be the difference in that young person being able to cope beyond it.   It is hoped that strategies being put in place will help the young people to be able to manage their fears and anxieties post lockdown and beyond.”

We are very thankful for the level of support offered by the Worval Foundation and Cornwall Community Foundation.
