Ben Martin

Hi my name is Ben. I am pleased to be a part of the team as an Engagement Worker, dedicated to supporting and empowering young or vulnerable people to build confidence, develop skills, and access positive opportunities.

I’ve worked in social care for most of my adult life but recently have set up a business with my wife cooking Indian cuisine. My professional background includes a qualification in social work. Whilst working in Cornwall, I’ve assessed individuals with learning disabilities, dual diagnosis, or challenging behaviour and revised their support plans to meet their needs. I have also worked as commissioner for the council designing and reviewing tailored services to help individuals achieve the best possible outcomes.

Alongside my professional experience, I value the importance of connection and shared interests when building relationships with young people. In my free time I enjoy fishing, playing the harmonica and singing in my blues band, cooking and following rugby.
