Success Story Spotlight: A Young Person’s Journey
At White Gold, we celebrate the transformative impact of dedicated support. This young person’s story is a powerful example of overcoming significant mental health challenges to achieve academic and personal goals.
The Background
This young person was first referred to White Gold when they were 15 years old for support with their mental health. They were suffering from low mood and found it incredibly difficult to leave the house, leading them to stop attending school entirely.
Through consistent, compassionate intervention from their engagement worker, the young person began to rebuild their confidence and engagement. Over two years, the support helped them navigate their mental health struggles and re-engage with education.
By June 2025, they had successfully studied for and completed their GCSEs. They are now happily attending college on a part-time basis.
A Parent’s Appreciation
Following this achievement, the parent sent us this heartfelt message, acknowledging the difference the support made:
“Hi just a quick email to say that the continued support and compassion for my son, by Jasmin Appleby is very much appreciated and proves that not only is she a really great person but she is also extremely good at her job.
She is a huge credit to White Gold and I just wanted to give her the recognition she deserves!!”
